Youkilis out of Sox lineup tonight with tight hamstring

BOSTON -- Aside from perhaps a pinch-hit appearance on Thursday night, this round of craziness is over for Kevin Youkilis.
The White Sox third baseman said he is available to come off the bench, though he is not in the lineup for the teams series finale against the Boston Red Sox because of tightness in his left hamstring.
Youkilis has been nothing short of fantastic in his return to Fenway Park less than one month after he was traded by Boston, where he played the previous 8 1 2 seasons. Youkilis is 5-for-12 in the series with two doubles, a home run, three RBIs and three runs scored.
It has been a lot of craziness, but its been good, Youkilis said. The bottom line is we havent won the series, hopefully we tie it tonight. The big thing is today is the last day and its over and now we can move on and go about myself, personally, getting away from the old team I was on and focus on going forward.
Youkilis, who has played in all 19 games since he was acquired by the White Sox on June 24, said his hamstring began to bother him last weekend in Kansas City. He expects to be available when the White Sox open a big three-game series in Detroit on Friday.
He is hitting .353 with four homers and 15 RBIs in July.
(The hamstring is) something thats come up, Youkilis said. "Ill be good (for Detroit). Its just one of those things where we talked about and try to get it back to as full strength as possible.
Shortstop Alexei Ramirez will bat second for the White Sox, who face Bostons Clay Buchholz in the finale while Eduardo Escobar replaces Youkilis at third and bats eighth.
