2020 report card: Grading the Cubs starting rotation

With the Cubs’ season over and school back in session, it’s time to mix the two and dole out final grades for the 2020 season. This three-part series will rate individual performances over the Cubs’ 60-game regular season, plus their two playoff games.

Up first is the starting rotation. Back in Spring Training, the Cubs were concerned about the depth of their rotation, and that was before injuries to José Quintana and Tyler Chatwood.

Instead of crumbling in the wake of that misfortune, Cubs starters combined for a 3.77 ERA in the regular season, sixth best in MLB. Here are the individual grades for the Cubs rotation:
