How oddsmakers view Cubs in 2021 NL Central picture

Opening Day is fast approaching, and starting April 1, the Cubs will look to defend their NL Central championship from last season.

But after an offseason of roster changes, oddsmakers aren't too confident in the North Siders' chances in 2021.

Our partners at PointsBet published their odds for the upcoming season, giving the Cubs the fourth-best chance to win the NL Central (+425), behind the Cardinals, Reds and Brewers.

PointsBet also set the Cubs over/under win total at 78.5, trailing St. Louis (86.5), Milwaukee (83.5) and Cincinnati (81.5).

The Cardinals made a big splash in acquiring All-Star third baseman Nolan Arenado, while Milwaukee added Gold Glovers in second baseman Kolten Wong and outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr.

This winter, the Cubs traded ace Yu Darvish to the Padres, revamping their starting rotation by adding Zach Davies, Jake Arrieta and Trevor Williams. They retained most of their core hitters, outside of the non-tendered Kyle Schwarber, while signing longtime Dodger Joc Pederson.

David Ross and Co.'s defense of the Central begins in just a few weeks.
