Last week, Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo announced his foundation is raising funds to provide meals for medical workers combating the COVID-19 pandemic. The fundraiser is in collaboration with the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation’s restaurant partners

Along with his dog, Kevin, Rizzo revealed Thursday the foundation has served over 800 meals to hospital workers in Chicago and Florida working on the front line.

“We really appreciate all the donations everyone has given us,” Rizzo said. “I know everyone at the hospitals and the frontline workers have been so appreciative of this.

“All of the restaurants who have helped us, we thank you; we can’t thank you enough. Everyone who has donated, we can’t thank you enough.”

Those interested in donating can text HOPE44 to 52000 or go to rizzo44.com/donate.
