Cubs season tickets less pricey for 2022 season

The Chicago Cubs may be trying to ply prospective 2022 season ticket holders with lower prices across sections of Wrigley Field.

According to a report by Al Yellon of SB Nation's Bleed Cubbie Blue, the Cubs have sent out season ticket invoices that feature small decreases in sections throughout the ball park.

The percentage decreases range, on the high end, from around a 3.5 percent decrease in the Terrace Reserved - Outfield Corner section to a mere 0.63 percent decrease for seats in the front row of the Bullpen Box. Other decreases of less than 1 percent are seen in sections around home plate and closest to the infield. A report in Cubs Insider averages the price decrease by section at around 2 percent.

Such a drop in season ticket prices could mean an increase for individual tickets, which was expected to be the case in 2020. Of course, all sales were wiped out that season due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Reduced ticket sales resulted at the beginning of 2021 due to gathering restrictions in the city of Chicago and the team was negatively affected towards the end of the season ticket-wise because of the team's losing play.

The Cubs 2022 waiting list for season ticket holders is currently open and the team is also allowing deposits on multi-game package deals.
