Cubs' Anthony Rizzo calls out Reds, MLB for not postponing game with bad forecast

The forecast in Cincinnati Thursday isn't promising, with rain expected until early Friday morning.

That obviously presents a conundrum for the Cubs and Reds, who are scheduled to conclude their four-game series at Great American Ballpark. A post read on Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo's Twitter account discussed the conditions around the game due to the weather.

The game was postponed shortly thereafter.

Cubs manager David Ross said pregame he was told the game will be played but that he expected a "little bit of a delay." However, he added he didn't want the Cubs sitting around idly indoors during a season being played amid COVID-19.

"You don't want guys sitting around a visiting clubhouse all day," Ross said pregame. "We've had buses since 1 o'clock coming here. I just don't want my players sitting indoors with all that we're dealing with right now. The sooner we can make a decision on if we think we can play the game or not, the better.

"I think MLB's on board with that as well. We're trying to limit the indoor time."
