Cubs outfielder Cameron Maybin was scratched from the lineup Saturday with a stomach bug, manager David Ross said pregame.

Ross said Maybin felt sick overnight and is still under the weather today. He was originally in the lineup playing left field, batting sixth.

“When you’re feeling bad all night and the stomach’s not good, I don’t want to put him out there like that,” Ross said.

Kyle Schwarber will now play left rather than DH, David Bote will move from third base to DH, Nico Hoerner from second to third and Ildemaro Vargas will enter the lineup at second.

Ross added Anthony Rizzo is healthy but getting a day off. Rizzo is 3-for-28 (.107) in his last seven games with one walk and four strikeouts.

Second baseman Jason Kipnis, who last played on Tuesday, is dealing with “bumps and bruises” but could play if needed.

“He’s fine,” Ross said of Kipnis. “We all have a little bit of bumps and bruises. There’s a couple guys that are dealing with some little nagging things but are continuing to post.”

Here’s the Cubs lineup against Brewers pitcher Brent Suter, who is starting in place of Brett Anderson, who was scratched with right hip tightness.
