Cubs' Anthony Rizzo grinded, lost 25 pounds from quarantine workout regimen

With gyms closed the last three months due to nationwide stay-at-home orders, complacency quickly kicked in regarding the desire to exercise. Those living room dumbbell workouts just don't hit the same, and there's only so much cardio one can do.

Okay, I'm speaking from one man's perspective here. Heck, look no further than Anthony Rizzo, who proved during quarantine how hard work and determination can go a long way. An Instagram post from Tom Flynn (a strength and conditioning coach), shows Rizzo looking noticeably leaner as a result of his quarantine workout regimen.

According to Flynn, the Cubs first baseman and Mike Napoli — the team's quality assurance coach — have been working out six days a week during baseball's shutdown and each lost "25+ pounds" along the way. They've been training in Florida.

The 2020 season has been delayed nearly three months because of the coronavirus, but Rizzo looks ready to go, should baseball return in the near future.
