Have you ever wanted the shirt off of Anthony Rizzo’s back right after he’s finished playing at Wrigley? It may be a little smelly, but it could be yours!
Rizzo announced via Instagram that he will be participating in the ‘All In’ challenge to raise money for COVID-19 relief. The goal of the auction is to raise $100 million for COVID-19 relief efforts and provide food to those facing food insecurity due to the pandemic.
Rizzo is auctioning off a game day at Wrigley with him including a behind-the-scenes tour of the stadium for the winner and seven guests. The tour includes locker rooms and the dugout. The winner also gets front row seats between home plate and the Cubs dugout. After the game, Rizzo will take the winner and guests to Steak 48, an upscale restaurant in River North and one of Rizzo’s favorite places to eat in Chicago.
Rizzo will also give the winner most (emphasis on MOST and not ALL) of the clothes and gear he was wearing during the game. So, if you’ve ever been itching for a pre-owned baseball jersey, this is the auction for you. The starting bid for Rizzo’s Wrigley experience is $10,000, which seems pretty hefty, but the winner will also receive transport (including airfare) and a night in the hotel. Plus, it is for charity after all, so if you have that kind of disposable income, it sounds like an unforgettable day for any Cubs fan.
