Former Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo took home National League Rookie of the Month honors in July 2012.
Nine years and one month later, the guy who took over at first base for Rizzo after the Cubs traded him followed suit.
Major League Baseball named Frank Schwindel the NL Rookie of the Month for August on Thursday.

Schwindel has been a steady hitter for the Cubs since he joined the roster in the aftermath of the trade deadline. In 26 games last month, he slashed .344/.394/.635 with six home runs and 18 RBIs.
The 29-year-old had an extra-base hit in seven straight games (Aug. 12-18), the first Cubs right-handed hitter to do that since Aramis Ramírez in July 2009. He had a hit in 15 of 16 games from Aug. 3-18.
"Frankie's great," Cubs manager David Ross said this week. "He continues to have as good of at-bats as we've had. He's been really consistent. It doesn't matter whether it's a soft-thrower, a guy with real breaking stuff, a hard thrower — he seems to have the same approach.
"It's been nice to watch Frankie, get to know him, watch him play. He's a really, really good hitter."
