The Cubs offered a few injury updates ahead of Saturday’s matchup with the Brewers.

After taking ground balls and batting practice in pregame Saturday, Kris Bryant is back in the starting lineup, leading off and playing third base. Bryant missed the last two games with left wrist and ring finger soreness stemming from a dive in left field against Cleveland on Wednesday.

"KB’s in there. All good," manager David Ross said Saturday. "Tested some things out this morning. Seems to be ready to go."

Bryant is hitting .196/.315/.391 this season with two home runs, one of which came a half inning after he jammed his wrist in Cleveland.

Ross also said Tyler Chatwood will start one of Monday’s doubleheader games against the Cardinals. The right-hander was a late scratch from Friday’s game with mid-back tightness. He last pitched Aug. 6, when he got hit hard against the Royals after two solid starts to open the season.

“Feels good, everything checked out,” Ross said of Chatwood on Saturday. “Feels great today.”

Reliever Brad Wieck’s right hamstring strain is improving but the Cubs said Saturday he’s dealing with some left knee soreness that has set back his rehab. He and James Norwood (right shoulder strain) are both on rehab programs to get back healthy.

Wieck has been out since July 26 and Norwood since Aug. 2.
