Pederson's first Cubs hit: clutch game-tying HR vs. Brewers

Welcome to Chicago, Joc Pederson.

The new Cubs outfielder entered play Wednesday still looking for his first hit in the blue pinstripes and was 0-for-15 on the season entering the eighth inning.

Naturally, Pederson absolutely crushed a game-tying home run off Brewers reliever Devin Williams to tie the score at 1, causing the Wrigley Field crowd to erupt in jubilation.

"It was huge," Pederson said of the blast. "Grinded a little bit to start the season, just to kind of get the first one, especially in front of the fans and whatnot.

"I think it's a little bit more added pressure than normal. It was a big relief to get on the board."

Pederson's slow start this season followed an impressive spring, but Cubs fans are hoping Wednesday's long ball is the first of many by him this year.
