Kris Bryant is back in the Cubs starting lineup Thursday after missing most of the past two games with a hand injury.
Bryant exited Tuesday against the Mets in the second inning after getting hit by a pitch in the right hand. He underwent x-rays that came back negative but sustained a bruised right thumb.
Bryant missed Wednesday's game, a 6-3 Cubs loss, but felt "much better" later in the day after getting treatment, according to manager David Ross. He told Ross Thursday morning he was good to go.

"I trust in him," Ross said. "I'm sure he's not 100 percent, but the fact that he's willing to go, that's a good sign."
The 29-year-old is off to a slow start in June (.146/.222/.244, 12 games) but is in the midst of a strong season, batting .292/.374/.544 in 62 games with 13 home runs and 39 RBIs.
Bryant is batting second Thursday and starting at third base — just his third appearance there since April 20.
Cubs recall Brad Wieck, option Robert Stock

Prior to Thursday's game, the Cubs added a bullpen reinforcement, recalling lefty Brad Wieck from Triple-A Iowa. Robert Stock, who started Wednesday, was optioned to Iowa in a corresponding move.
Wieck hasn't allowed a run in eight appearances with the Cubs this season, allowing three walks and six hits in eight innings.
Stock pitched four innings Wednesday night, allowing five runs on four hits and six walks.
