Look, everyone. Baseball players may be famous, but they’re people, just like you and me. And sometimes, they just want to do their thing without the circus that comes with the fame.

Kris Bryant is no exception and revealed the lengths he goes to lay low. During Monday’s Cubs-Angels game on ESPN, Bryant, who was mic’d up, revealed he uses an alias on road trips.

ESPN broadaster Jon Sciambi asked Bryant and Anthony Rizzo if he looks like “the fat red-headed kid from ‘The Sandlot.’ Bryant said no, but Rizzo mentioned “Hamilton Porter,” who is the red-head Sciambi was referencing.

Bryant doesn’t look like Ham Porter, but he said it’s been his road nickname for some time.

“I’m changing my alias this year, but that was my alias on the road the last five years,” Bryant said. “Hamilton Porter.”

The alias may have helped Bryant lay low, but his wife isn’t a fan of it.

“So, my wife would order room service or something, and she hates it because it would always be like ‘Good afternoon, Mrs. Porter,” he said.

The baseball film nicknames don’t end there. Rizzo asked Cubs manager David Ross what his alias was during his playing career. Fittingly, the career backup catcher used ‘Jake Taylor,’ paying homage to the “Major League” film series.
