Cubs-Rockies rained out, doubleheader on Wednesday

The Cubs will have to wait until Wednesday to attempt to extend their home winning streak to two games.

Tuesday's Rockies-Cubs game was postponed as it rained sideways over Wrigley Field. They'll play a split seven-inning doubleheader Wednesday.

Game 1 Wednesday is scheduled for 1:20 p.m., with Game 2 following at 5:30. Tickets for Tuesday's game will be valid for the nightcap.

Zach Davies will start Game 1, and Justin Steele — Tuesday's probable starter — will take Game 2.

Tuesday's game went into a lightning delay over an hour before the scheduled 7:05 p.m. first pitch. Heavy rain soon followed the dark, ominous clouds.

The game was officially postponed less than a half hour before the scheduled first pitch.

The Cubs snapped their 13-game home losing streak Monday, on a walk-off home run by Rafael Ortega.
