Cubs spending Sunday right, with football and brunch during NLDS workout

The Cubs know how to spend a Sunday.

In between Games 2 and 3 of the NLDS against the Washington Nationals, the teams had a workout day at Wrigley Field on Sunday, and like anyone else living in Chicago, they wanted to add two main ingredients to their Sunday: football and brunch.

The team had football on the jumbotron and had a brunch buffet set up on the field behind home plate. Players were chilling, eating and watching football while the workout was going on.

It's no surprise from manager Joe Maddon, who's always having his players try new things like costumed road trips and in-clubhouse animal encounters. Add NLDS on-field brunch to the list.

Maybe this is just what the team needs after a tough Game 2 loss Saturday night in Washington.

The series is tied at 1 game apiece. The Cubs and Nats square off in Game 3 on Monday.
