Injury losses just keep on piling up for the Cubs.
Starting pitcher Trevor Williams underwent an appendectomy Sunday morning and is out indefinitely.
Williams was scheduled to start Monday's series opener against the Padres, and the Cubs starting pitcher is now TBD.

"With Trevor going down, that's a hit for us. We wish him a speedy recovery," Jake Arrieta said Sunday.
The Cubs have not made an official roster move.
The Cubs have lost a number of players to injuries this month, with seven players currently on the 10-day IL. That includes pitchers Trevor Megill, Alec Mills and Justin Steele.
"There's like 11 or 12 guys in my report in the morning," David Ross said pregame Sunday. "Keeping track of all of them is getting a little daunting."

Williams was coming off one of his best starts of the season, when he tossed six innings of three-hit, one-run ball Wednesday against the Pirates.
Depending on how long Williams is out, possible options to take his place in the rotation include Keegan Thompson and Mills (currently on a rehab assignment).
Starter Kohl Stewart, who has pitched well in Triple-A Iowa this season (3.68 ERA, four starts), could be another option. He's already on the 40-man roster.
