Cubs starter Yu Darvish took to Twitter Wednesday to thank his supporters following his Cy Young-caliber season.
Following the announcement he finished second in the National League Cy Young Award voting to the Reds' Trevor Bauer, Darvish offered his appreciation to his family, fans, teammates and Cubs staff members.
Darvish also took solace in his second-place finish, ahead of Mets starter and 2018 and '19 winner Jacob deGrom, placing him among the game's best starting pitchers.
Bauer received 27 first place votes compared to Darvish's three. But the Cubs right-hander was extraordinary in 2020, going 8-3 with a 2.01 ERA and 0.961 WHIP, helping the Cubs win their fifth division title in five seasons.
It's exciting to imagine what's in store for the Cubs ace next season and beyond.
