Former Cubs executive and current Mets general manager Jared Porter sent unsolicited, explicit text messages and photos to a female reporter in 2016, ESPN reported Monday.
The reporter, who was in the United States from another country to cover Major League Baseball, told ESPN she ignored over 60 messages from Porter prior to him sending a sexually explicit photo.
The reporter considered alerting the Cubs but was concerned of potential repercussions. She later told her bosses, who put her in contact with a Cubs employee from her home country.

Porter, 41, joined the Cubs near the end of the 2015 season as their pro scouting director, a position he held through the 2016 season. He spent the next four seasons as the Diamondbacks senior vice president and assistant general manager before the Mets named him their GM in December.
The Mets fired Porter on Tuesday.
The Cubs released a statement to ESPN on Monday night: "This story came to our attention tonight and we are not aware of this incident ever being reported to the organization.
"Had we been notified, we would have taken swift action as the alleged behavior is in violation of our code of conduct. While these two individuals are no longer with the organization, we take issues of sexual harassment seriously and plan to investigate the matter."
