Jason Heyward's walk-off grand slam lifts Cubs past Phillies

Share

For the first time this season, the Cubs won in walk-off fashion and it might not get better than this.

Trailing 5-3 to the Philadelphia Phillies with two outs in the ninth inning, Jason Heyward stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and took a 97-mph fastball deep into the Wrigley Field bleachers for a grand slam, resulting in a 7-5 win for the North Siders.

Heyward was 0-for-4 going into the at-bat, and fell behind 0-2 in the count during his fifth AB, redeeming himself in the best way possible.
