Joe Maddon will forever cherish painting of him and Willson Contreras

Joe Maddon is no longer manager of the Cubs, but he'll always cherish his time in Chicago.

Cubs catcher Willson Contreras recently commissioned a painting of him and Maddon hugging as a momento of the latter's time on the North Side. Maddon will not return in 2020, of course, and he was introduced as Angels manager on Thursday.

As he revealed in an interview with MLB Network, Maddon will receive a copy of the painting, which will serve as a positive reminder of his Cubs tenure.

"That will be the most special award I've ever received, once I get that in the mail," Maddon said. "That says it all for me personally, and that sums up how I felt about my guys in Chicago, and fortunately, that's how they felt about me."

We're not crying, you're crying.

Maddon shouted out the Cubs with a playful remark about wanting to beat them in the World Series with the Angels. All in all, though, there's no doubt that he'll cherish his Cubs tenure as his career goes on.
