They don't call it the Wild West for no reason.

As we near the end of the third month of the 2021 MLB season, five teams between the AL and NL West stand out among the best in baseball.

The Giants' steady, surprising season has rolled on. Entering this week, San Francisco is the only MLB team 20 games above .500.

The reigning champion Dodgers have long put a May slump behind them and are on the Giants' tail for first in the division. And while the Padres are off to a down start in June, no one is counting them out in the NL West race.

That brings us to the AL West, where the A's and Astros are neck and neck atop the division as they roll through their June schedules. Houston just swept the AL Central-leading White Sox to climb into a first-place tie.

It all makes for intriguing pennant races this summer, and, at this point, it won't be a surprise if we see all five teams standing come October.

Here's how all 30 teams stack up in the MLB Power Rankings after the third week of June.
