Trevor Bauer and Yu Darvish have several things in common. Outside of being two of the top pitchers in baseball this season, both are active on YouTube, Bauer more so this season.

The two hurlers will square off on Wednesday when the Reds and Cubs play at Wrigley Field. Bauer (2.05 ERA), who has a special relationship with Darvish (1.44 ERA), offered well wishes to the Cubs ace while calling on him for help building his YouTube prominence.

Darvish has 510,000 subscribers on YouTube, compared to Bauer’s 69,300. He offered a way to help Bauer boost his subscriber count.

The friendly back and forth between the two dates back to at least last season, when Darvish was struggling in Year 2 on the North Side and Bauer was still in Cleveland.

“Last year, in the first half, I struggled with my command, and I texted [Bauer] a lot," Darvish said on Aug. 29, after he and Bauer faced one another in Cincinnati. "He gave me a lot of advice, and I tried a lot of things."

Bauer is a fan of Darvish, recently telling ESPN how Darvish's game is an inspiration to him.

"He's what I wish I could be,” Bauer told ESPN’s Jesse Rogers of Darvish. I'm just not nearly as talented as he is."
