If you thought you saw something strange behind home plate in the second inning of Wednesday's Cubs-Royals game, it's because you did.
The Royals are one of many big league teams to place cardboard cutouts of fans in their vacant seats. One of the cutouts at Kauffman Stadium is of MLB superfan Laurence Leavy, better known as Marlins Man.
Leavy's cutout depicts him in his famous orange Miami jersey, and someone took the opportunity to change his allegiance. In the middle of Ryan McBroom's second-inning at-bat, the Royals mascot covered up Leavy's Marlins jersey with a Kansas City shirt.
