If you've been watching the ALDS this week, you've likely noticed a barrage of advertisements for Utz, a snack company. Case in point:
White Sox ace Lucas Giolito was apparently watching Wednesday's Rays-Yankees game, jokingly tweeting about the nightmares "Little Utz girl" is going to give him.
That prompted this message from the company's official Twitter, targeting the Sox being eliminated from the postseason already.
Giolito took the joke in stride, and the two sides had a friendly exchange. Utz even offered to send free chips to any pitcher who threw a no-hitter this season.
Giolito, you'll recall, threw a no-no against the Pirates at the end of August. But he wasn't the only pitcher to do so this season. Just a few weeks later, Cubs pitcher Alec Mills tossed one against the Brewers.
Someone pointed that fact out to Utz, who then directed their attention towards Mills, leading to this golden exchange.
You gotta wonder if Mills slid into Utz' DMs or not. As for Giolito, Utz added a fun little note to their Twitter bio to remember this day.
At least they offered support for the Sox?
