Baez delivered the Cubs' first run of the game, which had to wait until the eighth inning, with a clutch two-out double off Adam Ottavino to score Terrance Gore.
Baez ripped a ball up the middle after hearing MVP chants from the home crowd.
Before the game, Baez called out Cubs' critics, saying, "They know we're the best."
