The leadoff spot has been a revolving door for the Cubs since Dexter Fowler left as a free agent following the 2016 World Series.
But this postseason, a few ex-Cubs have done damage out of the top spot, most recently outfielder Jorge Soler.
Soler, now with the Braves, made noise to start the 2021 World Series, hitting a leadoff home run in Game 1 against the Astros.

It's a historic home run for Soler, who is the first player in World Series history to hit a Game 1 leadoff homer in the first inning.
It's also the first leadoff homer in the the top of the first inning in any World Series game since (you guessed it) Fowler in Game 7 in 2016.
Soler is the latest former Cub to go deep out of the leadoff spot this postseason, joining Kyle Schwarber and Anthony Rizzo, who did so in the AL Wild Card Game.
Soler is looking to win his second World Series five years after doing so with the Cubs. They traded him to the Royals in the ensuing offseason for closer Wade Davis.

Atlanta acquired him this summer in a flurry of trade deadline moves to bolster its outfield, also adding Joc Pederson from the Cubs.
The ex-Cubs connections don't stop there. Former Cubs Terrance Gore, Jesse Chavez and Drew Smyly are also on Atlanta's World Series roster.
Dusty Baker is the Astros manager, and his roster includes former Cubs Kendall Graveman, Brooks Raley and Martín Maldonado.
