Gasol comments on trade rumors with Bulls

Pau Gasol has a thing or two to say concerning the rumors of him being dealt to the Bulls.

Trade ideas began circulating recently, so the Los Angeles Times decided to go straight to the source and find out Gasol's thought on the idea of the trade.

My position is still the same, Gasol told Mark Medina at the Times. I still would love to be a part of the Lakers and continue to be here to help the team win more championships as soon as possible. Its out of my control and its out of my hands, no matter what."

The potential trade between the Bulls and Lakers would have most likely included Carlos Boozer or Luol Deng. But between Deng's injury and Boozer's inconsistent play and 47 million contract, the swap seemed unlikely to happen from the start.

I dont know where that came from, Gasol said. Its pointless to really worry about it. Im totally cool with it, whatever they say. The stories will appear and then disappear on something that does or doesnt happen again. It sucks to be in that position, but it is what it is.

Gasol has been linked to trade rumors since the start of the shortened season and was even dealt to the Houston Rockets for Chris Paul before the league rejected the deal.

"There's a lot of rumors," Gasol said. "Different rumors, all kinds of rumors. Once the NBA draft gets closer on June 28th, all kings of stuff still again will come up."
