The Masters was supposed to take place this week, but the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic forced a postponement on March 13. Augusta National Golf Club has picked a new week on the calendar for the prestigious golf tournament to take place.

On Monday, Augusta National announced that The Masters have been rescheduled for Nov. 9 - 15. Instead of following the NCAA Tournament, The Masters will now take place during an NFL and college football weekend, as well as possibly the baseball playoffs if the MLB season runs later to make up for lost time.

“In collaboration with the leading organizations in golf, Augusta National Golf Club has identified November 9-15 as the intended dates to host the 2020 Masters,” said Fred Ridley, chairman of Augusta National Golf Club, in a statement. “While more details will be shared in the weeks and months to come, we, like all of you, will continue to focus on all mandated precautions and guidelines to fight against the Coronavirus. Along the way, we hope the anticipation of staging the Masters Tournament in the fall brings a moment of joy to the Augusta community and all those who love the sport.”

The outbreak has affected all four of golf’s majors as part of a revised schedule released by the PGA Tour on Monday. The British Open, originally scheduled for July 13-19, has been canceled. The U.S. Open has been moved from June 15 - 21 to Sept. 14 - 20. The PGA Championship was moved from May 11-17 to Aug. 3-9.
