BOSTON -- Philip Humber will pitch Sundays series finale with the Detroit Tigers, White Sox manager Robin Ventura said on Wednesday.

The White Sox had already announced Jose Quintana will pitch Thursdays series finale against the Boston Red Sox with Jake Peavy and Chris Sale starting the first two games in Detroit on Friday and Saturday.

In his return from the disabled list on Tuesdsay night, Humber limited the Red Sox to two runs and six hits in six innings and picked up the victory.

The move means the White Sox will skip the turn of Dylan Axelrod, who heads to the bullpen. Axelrod limited Boston to a run and struck out eight in 6 23 innings on Monday night.

It also means Axelrod would be available to start on Monday night if Gavin Floyd isnt ready to come off the 15-day disabled list. Floyd is expected to throw a bullpen session on Friday and would start against the Minnesota Twins at home Monday if hes healthy.
