CLEVELANDIt might not be a happy homecoming for No. 1 overall draft pick Anthony Davis, a Chicago native, Saturday night at the United Center.
According to reports, Davis suffered a possible concussion in the New Orleans Hornets game Friday evening against the Utah Jazz.
New league protocol requires players who suffer a concussion to sit out their next game.
If Davis, a college teammate of Bulls rookie Marquis Teaguethe pair won a national championship together last season at the University of Kentucky; Davis went on to win a gold medal at the London Olympicsdoes play against his hometown Bulls, Tom Thibodeau will have his team prepared.
From what Ive seen and I havent watched a lot yetI will between tonight and tomorrow nightbut hes been very, very impressive. Skilled, the Bulls head coach gushed. His athleticism, his shot-blocking, all that stuff brings a lot of energy to a team, so theyll be dangerous.
