Floyd shines at Notre Dame Pro Day

It's becoming more likely if the Bears want Michael Floyd in the NFL Draft, they're going to have to move up into the Top 10 to select him. That didn't stop Lovie Smith, Darryl Drake and Gill Byrd from attending Notre Dame's Pro Day on Tuesday.

Floyd impressed scouts with his route running and only dropped a few passes from current Carolina Panthers QB and Notre Dame alum Jimmy Clausen.

NFL Network's Mike Mayock was on hand to watch Floyd's Pro Day and thinks that he may be the best wide receiver in the 2012 NFL Draft.

"In my book he is (the best receiver in the Draft). If you take the off-the-field stuff away from Michael Floyd and just watch the tape, I think he compares very, very favorably to Justin Blackmon. In my opinion, I think Jacksonville at 7 starts his interest. I don't think he gets past 16 with the Jets. I think there are some teams like Chicago hanging down there at 19 that would love to have Michael Floyd."

Notre Dame's official school website issued the results from the Pro Day:

- Cornerback Robert Blanton's 40-yard dash time was clocked at 4.53 seconds.

- Linebacker Darius Fleming's 40-yard dash time was clocked at 4.54 seconds.

- Running back Jonas Gray put up 22 reps on the bench press.

- Safety Harrison Smith posted a 60-yard shuttle time of 11.52 seconds.
