Jimmy Clausen will be a part of NBC's coverage of Saturday's game between Notre Dame and Stanford.
The former Fighting Irish quarterback will join Liam McHugh and Dhani Jones as a guest analyst for pregame, halftime and postgame coverage.
Clausen was Notre Dame's quarterback during the 2007, 2008 and 2009 seasons under head coach Charlie Weis. The Irish posted a combined 16-21 record in those three seasons with one bowl appearance.
In those three seasons, Clausen completed 62.6 percent of his passes for 8,148 yards and 60 touchdowns compared to 27 interceptions.
He decided to skip his senior season and enter the NFL Draft. He was a second-round pick of the Carolina Panthers in 2010 and appeared in 22 regular-season games during three different NFL seasons, playing 13 games with the Panthers in 2010, four games with the Bears in 2014 and five games with the Bears and Baltimore Ravens in 2015.
