Notre Dame jumped two spots to No. 9 in the AP poll and remained at No. 11 in the USA Today coaches poll, both of which were released Tuesday after the Irish beat Texas 38-3 Saturday night.

In moving from No. 11 to No. 9 in the AP poll, Notre Dame leapfrogged Georgia and Florida State. Among Notre Dame's future opponents, Georgia Tech moved up a spot to No. 15 while USC and Clemson remained at No. 8 and No. 12, respectively.

There wasn't much movement in the top 15 spots in the coaches poll besides UCLA moving up two spots to No. 13 after beating Virginia, Notre Dame's opponent this weekend, in Pasadena. Notre Dame opponents USC (No. 10) and Clemson (No. 12) remained at their preseason spots, while Georgia Tech moved up one spot to No. 16.

Stanford's loss to Northwestern dropped the Cardinal out of both polls.
