Chicago native and Fire fan, SMIIRK, opens up Lollapalooza on Saturday

After playing in front of friends, family and fans, Chicago native SMIIRK took the time to meet us backstage Saturday afternoon to talk about the Fire, Crosstown Cup, and of course Dwyane Wade.

Although the electronic music prodigy is only 17 years old, he is actually no stranger to large music festivals.  Lollapalooza marked his fourth major festival appearance, having previously played major events like Juicy Beach in Miami and North Coast Festival here in Chicago when he was only 15.

While producing and performing take up most of his time, SMIIRK also enjoys watching sports — especially soccer.  Coming from a Peruvian family, SMIIRK says watching soccer is a big part of his heritage, so he keeps up with the Fire and with several South American national teams.

Check out our 1-on-1 interview to hear what he thinks of the biggest sports stories of the summer, so far.
