The White Sox had a big weekend to move into second place while the Cubs got swept by the Cardinals to fall to second place.

White Sox

The White Sox entered Saturday with a five-game winning streak after taking the first two of a four-game series against the Indians. It was snapped after a 5-2 loss, but the attitude in the clubhouse after the game showed the team's progress.

Lucas Giolito got the team back in the win column on Sunday. He didn't give up a run in 7 1/3 innings and Tim Anderson added a home run in a 2-0 win. It's more of the same from those two, showing the pieces are coming together for the White Sox.

Meanwhile, the back end of the White Sox bullpen, led by Alex Colome, has gotten the job done this season. The White Sox have dealt away relievers the last two seasons, but with the team winning more games and the end of the rebuild appearing near, do they hold onto them this year?

Cubs

The Cubs lost in extra innings on Friday, endured a long rain delay before losing on Saturday (a game which a lingering heel issue kept Javy Baez out of the lineup) and got swept on Sunday. Baez talked his way back into the lineup Sunday, but the offense mustered just one run.

The month ahead features a crazy, busy schedule for the Cubs. They will try to get the offense going again after suffering some bad "baseball luck."

Bears

The Bears aren't going to drastically alter their classic jerseys, but they could have throwbacks for the 100th season in 2019.
