Simeon was simply too much even with a great effort from Perspectives-Calumet as the top-ranked Wolverines earned an 82-42 in a Red-South matchup Monday night.

The crowd may have anticipated a quick steam roll but Perspectives-Calumet kept it close for the first quarter with Simeon holding a 18-15 lead.

In the second quarter the Wolverines (6-0, 3-0) began to pull away building a 35-23 lead. But after halftime, Simeon began to pull away.

Kendrick Nunn threw down a big dunk to start a 22-2 run and the Wolverines never looked back.

Junior Jabari Parker led the way with a school-record 40 points to go along with his 16 rebounds and six blocks. Nunn added 11 along with Steve Taylor, Jaylon Tate and Kendall Pollard who scored seven a piece.

Simeon coach Robert Smith said the team played very unselfish basketball.

When Jabari got going, you could see they wanted him to get 50 and passed up some good shots, Smith said. We picked up the defense and just and took control of the game.

Smith also noticed how the team settled down when point guard Jaleni Neely hit the floor.

This is his second game back since his injury and he is rounding back into form.

Terrence Sardine led Perspective with 10 points.

You teach your players to compete and not quit and I feel we did more than just show up, Perspectives coach Javon Mamon said
