Preseason Preps Basketball Power Rankings: No. 12 Homewood-Flossmoor

School: Homewood-Flossmoor

2017-18 record: 21-7, 9-1, SouthWest Suburban Blue

Postseason results: Lost to Marist in Class 4A sectional semifinals.

Players to watch: The Vikings return loads of experience, size and athleticism as they'll be a major problem to contend with this season. Isaac Stanback, Maurion Scott, R.J. Ogom and Damen Trice are all college prospects while 6-foot-7 sophomore forward Chad Readey has received buzz for his play this fall.

Why they're in the power rankings: With a roster loaded with players between 6-foot-4 and 6-foot-7, the Vikings will be one of the biggest and most athletic teams in the state this season. With high hopes for a deep bench, H-F could also wear opponents down by throwing waves of bodies at them. As long as H-F's guard play is consistent, they should be one of the area's toughest teams.

Did you know? One of the area's most consistent programs, Homewood-Flossmoor has 20 or more wins in 14 of the last 15 seasons.
