The first 75 team profiles will focus on teams making strides across Chicagoland and elsewhere in the state. Head coach: Bill Mitz

Assistant coaches: Andy Farrissey, Mike Warren, Brian Zimmerman, Bob Mackey

How they fared in 2015: 7-3 (3-2) Fox Valley (Valley) Conference. Jacobs made the 2015 Class 7A state playoff field and lost to Lincoln-Way East in opening round action.

Biggest storyline in 2016: Can the Golden Eagles survive the FVC schedule and then make a deeper run in the post-season?

Names to watch this season: QB Chris Katrenick (Bowling Green commit), OL/DL Jimmy Wormsley

Biggest holes to fill: Jacobs up front defensively will need to reload with just one starter back in senior DL Brandon Ciesel.

EDGY's Early Take: Jacobs returns one of the state's top quarterbacks in Chris Katrenick and if they can survive the always tough FVC they will be a state playoff team again this season.
