The first 75 team profiles will focus on teams making strides across Chicagoland and elsewhere in the state. Starting Jul. 31, we'll unveil the @CSNPreps Top 25 Power Rankings, leading up to kickoff on Friday, Aug. 25.

How they fared in 2016: 6-4 (2-3 Mid Suburban West Conference), made the 7A state playoffs and lost to Benet Academy in opening round action.

2017 Regular Season Schedule:

Biggest storyline: Can the Hawks beat the big boys in the Mid Suburban West then make a deep state playoff run in 7A?

Names to watch this season: Senior WR/LB Jaylan Alexander (Purdue) Senior WR Jayvon Blissett Senior DB Travon Hall

Biggest holes to fill: The Hawks return an impressive 16 starters back (10 on offense) yet Hoffman Estate will be a bit inexperienced on the defensive line this fall.

EDGY's Early Take: The Hawks made the IHSA state playoff for the first time in 22 seasons in 2016 and don't look for Hoffman Estate to go away anytime soon. If the Hawks can catch a few breaks they are a top contender in the Mid Suburban west and also in Class 7A in 2017.
