Bolingbrook four-star junior inside linebacker Tuf Borland (6-foot-1, 215 pounds) was thought to be a strong lean towards Wisconsin.

His father played for the Badgers in the 1990s, but Borland decided to pledge to the defending National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes on Friday night.

"I made another visit to Ohio State last week just to get a better feel for things," Borland said. "I still was far from making a final decision going into that visit, but after that trip I knew I was ready to make my college decision. I called up the coaches at Ohio State tonight (Friday) and gave them my verbal commitment."

Borland pointed towards the overall fit on and off the field as a big reason why he decided on Ohio State.

"Everything about Ohio State stood out, from a football standpoint, it's great to play for a program that's going to be in contention for a national title every year," Borland explained. "I'll be majoring in Kinesiology and they have an excellent program. I'd like to work in strength and conditioning someday and from the academic standpoint they are really strong. Ohio State also has a great group of linebackers and great coaches that I get along with really well. Socially I just felt comfortable at Ohio State and it's just a great fit."
