Share

School: Lincoln-Way West

2015-16 record: 22-10, 8-6 in the Southwest Suburban Red

Postseason results: Lost to Belleville Althoff, 62-37, in the Class 3A state championship game.

Players to watch: Senior guard Marco Pettinato is one of the best scorers in the state as he's committed to Lewis University. Pettinato had at least 20 points in 15 games last season. Starting guards Jay Bumstead and Nolan Green also return.

Why they're in the power rankings: With a go-to scorer in Pettinato and two other key starters back, plenty is still left for Lincoln-Way West to have another great year. Replacing 6-foot-6 forward Jon Marotta will be key.

Did you know? Last season's state-title game run was historic for Lincoln-Way West, a school that opened in 2009. It marked the first time the school had won a sectional and super-sectional title.
