East St. Louis junior quarterback Tyler Macon (6-foot-0, 180 pounds) could be excused for taking time to sit back this winter and enjoy his accomplishments. But Macon, who led the Flyers to an undefeated 14-0 season and a Class 6A state title while being named Illinois Player of the Year by EDGYTIM/Rivals.com, is doing anything but relaxing.
Macon was one of several top underclassmen prospects who took part in the EDGYTIM Underclassmen Showcase powered by EFT Football in McCook over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend. Like his team name in East St. Louis, the Flyers, Macon was doing his part to justify that name. He was in Southern California taking part in the Next Level camp and then flew to Chicago just in time to participate in this event.
Macon is holding multiple scholarship offers this winter including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Missouri. He takes a few minutes to update us on his latest offseason travels, recruiting news and much more in this latest interview.
