CSN Chicago will have cameras covering the biggest high school football games across the Chicagoland area for the Week 3 edition of High School Lites, Friday at 11 p.m. Who wins “The Valley” as Neuqua travels to Death Valley to take on Waubonsie? Can Mount Carmel knock off the state's top ranked team in Loyola Academy? Can Barrington ride its strong running game and defeat a very hot Maine South squad? And who you got this week: Homewood-Flossmoor or Lincoln-Way East?

Curie vs. Morgan Park, 4:15 p.m. at Stagg Stadium *Thursday*

EDGY's Take: Both Curie (2-0) and Morgan Park (2-0) have rolled so far but this game will be the first serious test for both schools. Could this be one of the best weeks of the 2016 season for the Chicago Public League? There’s this game, along with Simeon (0-2) and Phillips (1-1) battling Saturday night at Gately.

EDGY's Pick: Curie 27, Morgan Park 20

(11) Neuqua Valley at (3) Waubonsie Valley, 7:30 p.m.

EDGY's Take: Easily one of the top rivalry games in the West/Southwestern suburbs. Neuqua Valley (2-0) and head coach Bill Ellinghaus have a ton of talent to watch, including senior wide receiver/safety Isaiah Robertson (Notre Dame). Can the Wildcats limit the penalties and turnovers? Waubonsie Valley (2-0) is coming off a big come-from-behind, 29-28, win over Glenbard North in Week 2. Can the Warriors get another big performance from junior quarterback Tanner Westwood and its defense?

EDGY's Pick: Waubonsie Valley 28, Neuqua Valley 25

(1) Loyola vs (6) Mount Carmel, 7:30 p.m. at Gately Stadium

EDGY's Take: Can Mount Carmel's offense be its best defense against a Loyola Academy offense that lit up the scoreboard in a 44-43 win over Maine South in Week 2? Has Mount Carmel (2-0) really been tested at all up until this game? Loyola is getting a nice performance so far this season from senior Tommy Herion and a big and physical offensive line. Look at time of possession as a key here.

EDGY's Pick: Loyola 28, Mount Carmel 27

(3) Homewood-Flossmoor at (4) Lincoln-Way East, 7:30 p.m.

EDGY's Take: Homewood-Flossmoor has been walloping opponents so far behind a potent running game. Senior running back Hubert Hughes is just one of several names to watch carrying the ball for head coach Craig Buzea’s Vikings. Lincoln-Way East has been throwing the ball well with two rotating quarterbacks in Jake Arthur and Matt Shafer, while wide receivers' Nick Zelenika and Jeremy Nelson have been the main targets so far. Can the East defense derail the Vikings running game? Can the Vikings defense take away the passing game from Lincoln-Way East?

EDGY's Pick: Lincoln-Way East 34, Homewood-Flossmoor 28 in OT

Maine West at Hoffman Estates, 7:30 p.m.

EDGY's Take: Both Maine West (2-0) and Hoffman Estates (2-0) are off to great early starts. Maine West will look toward running back Anthony Henley while Hoffman Estates will counter with its passing game led by quarterback Austin Miller-Coalson and top wide receiver target Jayvon Blissert. Can Maine West keep the Hawks passing game in check? Can Hoffman Estates take away the Warriors running game? If Maine West wins, it would be their first 3-0 start since 1979. If Hoffman Estates wins, it would only be the second time the Hawks have started 3-0 since 1988.

EDGY's Pick: Hoffman Estates 27, Maine West 19

(13) Maine South at (23) Barrington, 7:30 p.m.

EDGY's Take: The Maine South (1-1) offense is as explosive as ever. Senior quarterback Nick Leongas and junior running back Fotis Kokosioulis give the Hawks offense a real speed threat with the run and the pass. Barrington, coached by Joe Sanchez, has been more about the running game so far this season. They’re led by a big, strong and experienced offensive line. Can the Barrington offense keep the Maine South offense off the field and limit its touches? Can the Maine South defense slow down the Barrington running game?

EDGY's Pick: Maine South 36, Barrington 24

(20) Montini at (16) Fenwick, 7:30 p.m. at Triton College

EDGY's Take: Was Montini (1-1) able to find a much-needed spark on offense in last week's, 19-7, win over Lake Zurich?  The Broncos made a change at quarterback and inserted junior Matt Morrissey who led Montini to two second half touchdowns. Fenwick (2-0) just keeps winning with an experienced team led by senior quarterback Jacob Keller. The Friars have good size on both sides of the line. Can Montini continue to get its offense in gear? Can Fenwick beat the Broncos in this key early CCL Green conference showdown?

EDGY's Pick: Fenwick 27, Montini 21

Viewers' Choice Game of the Week

Harvard at Woodstock North, 7 p.m.

EDGY's Take: Harvard (1-1) took it on the chin, 42-12, against Class 4A power Plano in Week 2. It was the Hornets first real game action after getting a forfeit win over Kelvyn Park in Week 1. Keep an eye on quarterback Dylan Stevens and running back Chad Nelson for the Hornets. Woodstock North (2-0) has posted two straight running clock wins so far this season. The Thunder will look towards its running game led by Casey Dycus this season. Who wins in this first ever Kishwaukee River Valley conference game?

EDGY's Pick: Woodstock North 35, Harvard 27

Northwest Indiana Showdown

Lowell at Griffith, 7 p.m.

@CSNPreps Take: It’s one of the longest continuous rivalries in the state of Indiana (tied for second longest with Clark-Whiting, behind Plymouth-Warsaw). After a couple of heartbreaking losses, Lowell (1-2) found its groove last week in a 35-0 victory over Kankakee Valley. The defense held the Kougars to 23 yards of offense while Trevor Espravnik scored four touchdowns. The Panthers (1-2) welcome Lowell to the Boneyard after losing to Hobart, 22-7, in Week 2. The visiting Red Devils won last year’s tilt 61-6.
