Lincoln-Way West offensive tackle Justin Witt (6-foot-7, 260 pounds) made an unofficial visit to North Carolina State over the weekend, and on Monday he gave the coaching staff his verbal commitment.
"I just called up the coaches at NC State and gave them my verbal commitment," Witt said. "I had an amazing visit this past weekend and once I got back home I knew I was ready to end it."

Witt's connection to NC State actually started his freshman year. He met NC State offensive line coach Mike Uremovich when Uremovich was recruiting for Northern Illinois University and that early connection played a big role in Witt's decision.
"The loyalty I was shown from coach Uremovich and everyone at NC State was important to me," Witt said. "I've had a relationship with my recruiting coach at NC State since my freshman year in high school. He told me last year that if I added a bit more size and strength that NC State would offer me and he's was true to his word."
Witt had 21 verbal scholarship offers before pledging to the Wolfpack.
