Preps Basketball Power Rankings: No. 17 Homewood-Flossmoor

Share

School: Homewood-Flossmoor

2018-19 record: 23-8 (8-2 Southwest Suburban Blue)

Postseason results: Lost to Simeon in Class 4A sectional finals.

Players to watch: Senior forward R.J. Ogom is one of the area's most underrated players as the College of Charleston commit can take over a game with his energy on the interior. Guard Joel Watts was a proven varsity player at St. Rita while Josiah Palmer should step up. Junior forward Chad Readey also showed upside with his play this summer.

Why they're in the power rankings: The Vikings will have to move on from some talented seniors. Thankfully for Homewood-Flossmoor, they were one of the area's most balanced teams last season. They return Division I prospects, experienced seniors and have multiple ways of scoring. Homewood-Flossmoor should once again be a team to watch this season.

Did you know? Sectional titles have been tough for the Vikings despite sustained postseason success. Since H-F won its last sectional in 2006, the program has 10 regional championships without reaching supersectionals.
