Rockridge advanced to the IHSA Class 2A boys basketball state title game in thrilling fashion on Friday night as junior Carson Frakes nailed a buzzer-beater to beat Hales Franciscan.

Trailing 43-42 with 5.1 seconds left, Rockridge had to inbound the ball and go the length of the floor in order to beat the Spartans. After the initial inbounds pass was bobbled, a pass found its way to the 6-foot-4 Frakes, who buried a nearly 70-foot shot at the buzzer for the improbable 45-43 win.

Frakes finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds in the win as Rockridge improved to 28-4 on the season.

Rockridge now moves on to face St. Joseph-Ogden, who defeated Breese Central in the other Class 2A state semifinal on Friday. St. Joseph-Ogden and Rockridge play for the Class 2A state championship live on CSN at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday night.

All four Class 1A and Class 2A games can be found on CSN and streaming on CSNChicago.com on Saturday, including the Class 1A championship between Leo and LeRoy at 2:00 p.m. Be sure to follow us on Twitter at @CSNPreps for the latest updates on the IHSA boys basketball state tournament.
