St. Charles East three-star ranked junior offensive tackle Dylan Barrett (6-foot-5, 285 pounds) made a Saturday game day visit to see the Badgers beat Nebraska and this evening decided to give the Badgers his verbal commitment.

"I've always liked Wisconsin going back to when I was a young age," Barrett said. "After making several different visits to Wisconsin I just felt more and more of a connection to them. I visited the Wisconsin game day on Saturday and that really sealed the deal for me. Wisconsin has a great atmosphere, great coaches and it's just the right fit for me."

Barrett, who was also holding 13 early verbal scholarship offers from the likes of Northwestern, Illinois, Iowa, Purdue and Missouri felt he was ready to end his recruiting process on Monday night.

"Wisconsin has always been my top choice," Barrett said. "I was able to add a lot of great offers and great opportunities but everything about Wisconsin just took my breathe away."

Barrett also realizes that he won't be able to sign a Letter of Intent to Wisconsin until early December of 2019, yet that didn't deter his decision.

"I didn't feel any pressure to commit this early to be honest," he said. "I just got that feeling that it was the right time and that I was ready to give Wisconsin my commitment. I just felt that I was ready and needed to make my decision and my commitment. Everyone is just really excited for me."
