Stevenson's Justin Smith prepping for monster senior season

Stevenson junior Justin Smith will be one of the area's best seniors next season and the 6-foot-6 wing has a chance to win Player of the Year honors.

After starting on Stevenson's state championship team as a sophomore, Smith had a chance to take the role of star player last season with Jalen Brunson and Connor Cashaw moving on to college.

Smith had a big year, as he averaged 17 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game while shooting 52.2 percent from the field and 78 percent from the free-throw line. He also frequently found himself on High School Lites thanks to some big dunks during the season.

Smith is hearing from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Florida State, N.C. State, Villanova and Wisconsin the most in recruiting as he's playing with the Mac Irvin Fire in the Nike EYBL this spring and summer.

Ranked as the No. 123 overall player in the Rivals Class of 2017 national rankings, Smith will be a player to keep an eye on when it comes to recruiting and skill development over the next few months.
