Uplift senior guard Demarius Jacobs made his college selection on Wednesday afternoon as he committed to Southern Illinois.
The 6-foot-2 Jacobs is one of the better players in the city as his commitment comes a few days after his younger brother, Class of 2019 guard Markese Jacobs, committed to Kansas.
As a junior, Demarius averaged 19 points, six rebounds and four assists per game. If Jacobs continues to put up numbers like that during his senior season, Uplift will be the favorite in the Red-North with a serious chance at even more hardware.
Jacobs is the first commitment for Southern Illinois in the Class of 2017 as he gives the Salukis a playmaking guard who can score or create for others.
